AURALiC G2.1-serien har nå et dobbelt kabinett, eller et «kabinett-i-kabinett» hvor det ytterste kabinettet er laget i høykvalitets aluminium og det innerste kabinettet er av kobber.
Disse design-oppgraderingene forbedrer EMI-skjermingen og gir en lydmessig gevinst.
En ny (tung) metallbase gir et solid fundament til den oppgraderte G2.1/GX.1-serien, og var en viktig del med tanke på det nye og forbedrede avkoblingssystemet. Så foruten å være en visuell oppgradering tilfører den solide basen og de nye bena også lydmessige forbedringer.
Oppgradert avkoblingssystem (dempeføtter)
Vekt-fordelings-designet som man kjenner fra dempeføttene i den originale G2/GX-serien er uforandret. AURALiC har imidlertid videreutviklet det fjæropphengte spike systemet som nå isolerer for eksterne vibrasjoner i mye høyere grad enn før.
Kretsforbedringer
For ARIES G2.1 har USB-utgangen gjort noe mer universell, noe som kort og greit betyr at den er kompatibel med de fleste produsenters USB-innganger.
HDD-porten for tilkobling av eksterne harddisker har blitt kraftigere (mer strøm). Det betyr at den nå også kan drive en rekke USB-disker som har et høyere strømkrav.
Disse oppgraderingene gir også flere muligheter for implementering av nye fremtidige funksjoner.

At times like this, I wonder why we pay so much for vinyl, I know it can be better, but when streaming is this good, you wonder if it’s worth it. The ARIES G2.1 is an exceptional streamer with an excellent feature range and an increasingly sophisticated control app that gives instant access to those streaming services that are worth buying. If you get the components that surround it up to the same standard, you will have digital audio the likes of which few have enjoyed
I used the Aries G2.1 with a variety of DACs over two or three months and got consistently outstanding results with it, so much so that going back to the Aries G1 I usually use will be a difficult transition. On the one hand it’s difficult to understand why this purely digital part of the streaming chain can be so influential but repeated comparisons and experience with alternatives reveals that this is certainly the case. There are people that don’t believe streaming can compete with CD let alone vinyl but I suspect that most of them have never heard a good streamer. The Aries G2.1 is a very good streamer.’
‘It should be evident by now that the Auralic Aries G2.1 is a rather special piece of kit, one that’s capable of taking almost any streaming system to the next level. You need a commensurately good DAC to make the most of it and the source side needs to be sorted too, but if you’re looking for a serious streaming upgrade this warrants serious consideration
